   Hip-Hop Clothing
Hip hop clothing was undoubtedly established by designer Carl Williams and multi-platinum rapper/poet Tupac "2pac" Amaru Shakur. The two joined forces to give Hip-Hop culture a brand that focused on the styles going on within the urban community.

At the time, teens, rappers, and entertainers had no official brand but applied a Hip-Hop swag to mainstream clothing brands. Those popular in the 1990's included designer brands such as Nautica, Polo, Cross Colours, and Guess.

In 1990 Cross Colours' founder inked a deal with Carl Williams to produce "Karl Kani" hip hop clothing brand. By 1992 the brand had a major buzz going in urban communities and 2Pac Shakur decided to give a push to Carl's new line, to support another b.o.b. Quickly the line became a recognized brand and Macy's department store started carrying Karl Kani. The deal marked the first time Macy's ever retailed a Hip-Hop clothing brand.

Since 2pac Shakur and the Karl Kani clothing brand, many other designers, music artists, and Hip-Hop clothing brands have formed and found success.

A product of the lower and middle class Urban community, C.KHiD's first career revolved around Hip-hop clothing. In 2002, he founded the 1st Hip-Hop fashion site Sojones.com. For nearly 6 years he ran Sojones before commiting to Hip-Hop music and entertainment full-time and here he shares his knowledge of Urban fashion.
