Veteran Rapper Rappin'4 Tay Will Release Still Standing Hip Hop Album
One of the rap game's oldest rapper, Rappin' 4-Tay has returned to the studio for a new album titled Still Standing. The album his 4-Tay's 11th album, and his first since his 2007 release of The World is a Ghetto. I took a minute to stick up tracks and see what's going on from the outside, observing how the music game has changed. I want to put some music out there for the soul, something for the OG's, but mainly for the West Coast though. Keeping it smooth, stated the San Fransisco rapper to AllHipHop.com. Rappin' is a veteran in the rap game. Since his debut album Rappin' 4-Tay is Back in 1991, the artist hit the mainstream in 1994 with singles Playaz Club and I'll Be Around from his second album Don't Fight the Feelin'. Playaz Club sampled William Bell and Judy Clay's song Private Number. The song reach the #36 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. From the same album, Ill Be Around top out at #39. Don't Fight the Feelin' lifted 4-Tay to recognition in the rap game. In 1996, 4-Tay was featured in rapping legend, 2Pac's song Only God Can Judge Me off the album All Eyez on Me. After another feature in Master P's West Coast Bad Boyz II album in 1997, Rappin' joined the San Fran supergroup T.W.D.Y. in 1999. Since additional album releases of Gangsta Gumbo, That's What You Thought and Ghetto Visa, Rappin 4-Tay looks to turn the page in his career to a new style. There's no more shoot 'em up bang bang, yellow tapes and chalk lines, but I'm still keeping it gangsta as well, said 4-Tay. I speak about the trials and tribulations that's been put in front of me: life, fatherhood, being in the rap game as well and dealing with those wicked streets out there. Put It On Me is Still Standing's first single. The song features Baby Bash, Dru Down and Icon. The album also features big name artists such as Naughty by Nature's Treach, Mac Mall, Montell Jordan, Skee-Lo, San Quinn, Cell Lell, and Mistah FAB. Rappin' 4-Tay is already looking ahead to his sequel album, Still Standing Volume II, which will quickly follow the original.
