San Jose, Costa Rica Zoo
Downtown San Jose's Zoo is a great place to visit during your touring of Costa Rica. The zoo is not large
but it has some beautiful species of animal in its compounds. If you didn't get to see Crocodiles, Tigers, Toucans,
or other wildlife common to Costa Rica while visiting, this will cover your interests.
I took quite a few photos of the different animals as I'm a fan of wildlife. Growing up in a rural urban countryside town
as a kid, I played with half-bobcat kittens and chased lizards. Every man probably has interests in some point of animals,
but then again maybe I do stick out doing this. I know in Hip-Hop culture, only other people recognized with animals like
this were Michael Jackson and Mike Tyson. LL Cool J posed with a black mountain lion or black panther as some call it for
a video cover.
I always shared a bond with caged animals because I feel in this world, its setup with so many traps to put you on display.
Animals though, they love you unconditionally and only ask for a little help back when needed. If only humans could learn
from that.
The down side at this San Jose zoo was there were no animals you could feed yourself. I think they should at least offer some meat
chunks to throw to the crocodiles or fruit to throw to the primates. It makes the experience more personal and interesting
for me anyway.
Notice the Jaguar that was in the cage. I tried to pet that because it was so close. As i got close though it let me
know it was not happening with a quick look to me as I bent towards it. Would I have really pet the Jaguar? probably
not. But I did challenge it's awareness.
