In Latin American countries it’s not uncommon that the idea ‘whiter the righter’ is openly displayed. Many people deny the claim, priding their country. But educated Latinos and Indigenous people have been speaking about it for years. One outspoken voice about this recently is entertainer Amara La Negra. Now the ugly truth has once again brought its head from the turtle’s shell. The 2019 Miss Universe Panama posted a racist image about Miss Dominican Republic, Claudia Daly.

Miss Panama’s Racist Image Posts

What happened is simple. Panamanian Miss Universe Mehr Eliezer, is an airhead who thinks beauty is one dimensional. The non-Latina representing a Latino country relied on the ideal that judges will be holding her light skin as a higher value and privilege. But unfortunately for Elierzer, it didn’t work out out how she planned. She’s not as popular as an Afro-Latina from the Caribbean and she’s offended her ‘brighter skin’ privileges do not work in today’s world.

Beyond that, it also could hurt the Hindu-transplant that her face isn’t what the world wants. It really seemed to do damage to the pageant contestant’s fake exterior hull. Now her true racist views have exposed. Whereas she is not Latina technically, it still raises great questions about Latino culture valuing the wrong people.

Miss Dominican Republic Response To Miss Panama & Racism

Miss DR 2019, Clauvid Daly, is not one to shy away from the racist remarks however. Growing up in the Dominican Republic where many still live and breathe the idea ‘white is right,’ she’s standing tall with pride for her country. There’s a huge movement for change within the Caribbean island currently, including the fight for women to wear their natural hair instead of straightening it. Daly’s win symbolizes the struggle for equality is prevailing in la Republica Dominicana.

Clauvid’s hair is naturally curly. Her skin is a rich copper-bronze ish tone. Her body is thin and natural, no visible surgeries. In today’s plastic world, she’s the symbol of a real woman.

Miss DR’s response to all the drama has been a simple one. Give Miss Panama no attention and none of her time. While she is touring off the win of Miss Universe 2019, she’s not putting an effort of any sort behind the Hindu model contestant representing Panama.

Racist Dominicans vs Clauvid Daly

There is not only racial remarks coming from outside Latino countries. Within the Dominican Republic, many have shown hatred towards the hometown morenita as well. A country of low education, many ignorant Dominicans have taken to social media such as Facebook and Instagram to say Daly cannot represent DR. However, the ruling class and people who are more affluent of the country, stand with her. Along with that, many young men and women of her complexion and darker feel a new sense of pride.

Clauvid admits, the hometown hate does hurt a little. However, she is not letting it destroy her goals and dreams.

The latest Instagram posts (@ClauvidDaly) show the Punta Cana raised Dominicana traveling New York City for press and media events. Her schedule is slammed with interviews and modeling events, now that she’s been crowned Miss Universe 2019.

This has got to have Miss Panama in her feelings even more. She might as well make posts about Ideli Diaz and Anyelina Saba next, the featured Dominican model prospects of CKHiD on-line.
