Meet The New Queen – Miss Nigeria 2024
We present to you Doris Ogah, 26-year-old Nigerian lawyer and model who has been crowned the new queen of the West African country.
The 45th edition of the competition, named “Beyond Beauty: Reigning Together as Queens”, was held on Thursday evening at the Royal Box in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria
Doris was among 45 beauty queens who competed in the contest which was later narrowed down to 20 then later 10 finalists.
She sailed through all the stages to become the finalist in the event which was presided over by a panel of judges led by Nigerian Media Mogul and philanthropist Mo Abudu.
The ten contestants were then reduced to five after being engaged in a Q&A session.
One of the questions posted to the ten finalists was,‘‘If you win your crown tonight, how will you use your platform to address the challenges Nigerian youths face?”
Divine Nelson, Ann Eneanya, Oluwabukumi Ogunsanya, Diane Paul and Doris Ogar proceeded to the next stage of the top five where four were eliminated after more questions and scrutiny by the judges.
The judges then announced Ms Ogar winner of the 45th Miss Nigeria competition. Miss Ogah represented the country’s South-South region in the competition.
Former Miss Nigeria Shatu Garko Congratulates Her
Miss Ogah received congratulations from various Nigerian celebrities including the outgoing 44th Miss Nigeria Shatu Garko.
Miss Garko, who is the first muslim ever in the history of the competition to win the pageant, congratulated Ogah and advised her to use her reign for the betterment of the community and society.
“To my successor, congratulations on beginning this incredible chapter. Embrace this journey with an open heart. Your crown is more than a symbol; it is a tool to inspire and uplift others. Trust yourself; you have everything it takes to shine in this role,” Miss Garko said.
“As I hand over this crown, I do so with gratitude and hope for the future. Though my reign ends here, the impact and memories will stay with me forever. This is not a goodbye; it is the beginning of a new chapter,” she added.
Ogah also expressed gratitude and shared how delighted she was to eventually get the beauty crown.
Taking to her instagram, Ogah said “It’s been a lifelong dream to be given the opportunity to serve as an example to inspire and empower countless women and girls around the world.”
Doris Ogah will hold the title for a period of not less than 2 years before another competition is held to get the next beauty queen.
