A new Jay Z concert was cancelled thanks to the surprise show being leaked to public. The Mayor’s Office of Film cancelled the surprise concert after news leaked to masses. Thanks to that leak, the city cancelled their permit to perform, leaving the idea of a new Jay Z concert shot.
“Its a shame when any free Jay-Z concert can not happen. Perhaps the pandemonium at the Drake Concert caused the city to force the change. A lot of youth would be inspired however to see Mr Carter perform live and get to realize the idea of what you can come, whether from Chelsea Manhattan or Bedstudy Brooklyn,” says new rapper C.KHiD.
Jay-Z was planning to surprise fans with a performance outside the studio “the Late Show with David Letterman” is filmed. The multi-platinum and award-winning Hip Hop artist wanted to try something new and shock the public at the same time.
“There was discussion of a concert, and ultimately it was decided there would be no permit,” spoke one representative from the office of NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Office. Continuing on the subject of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting said in a statement. “Many permits are granted on the condition that the event is not made public beforehand for capacity and security reasons. This event was made public.”
