Rapper Glorilla Donates $25k To Her Former High School

The rapper was honored with media centre named after her

Of course you know her – yes, the Memphis rapper, one of the hottest babes in the rap scene in 2024.

As hot as she is, Glorilla doesn’t forget her roots, a $25k donation to her former high school is a clear indication.

Earlier this week, she went back to her alma mater, Melrose High School, where she presented the institution with the surprise donation.

The money will go towards building a media news center for the institution’s library  which has also been named after her – Gloria H. Woods Media Centre.

Going to her instagram, the top rapper shared the proud moment while also revealing details of her newly acquired parcel of land in Memphis.

“Bought my first piece of land in my city today along with giving back to my high school I graduated from & they named their media center after me,” she captioned the instagram post.

“God is good & life is great. I’m so thankful.” she continued

Breakdown of How The Funds Will Be Spent.

The Institution’s head Mr Kristopher Davis said they wanted to upgrade the facility so that students would be more interactive.

“We want to upgrade our system so students can be more interactive, so they can research and take their learning to the next level,” he remarked.

Besides, he gave a breakdown of how the funds would be spent:

• $5,000 will be channelled towards supporting student incentives known as Glo Bucks
• Another $5,000 will go towards purchasing updated software for the library computers.
• $5,000 will be used to purchase modern seats and decorate the facility.
• $2,500 will help in purchasing clothing, toiletries, and undergarments for needy students while a similar amount will be used in office management.

Glorilla’s Music Career

Gloriah Hallelujah Woods famed as Glorilla first became known in 2022 after the release of her single “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)”.

She quickly rose to the top and immediately won Best New Hip-Hop Artist at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards, and again in the same category at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

She is also a nominee for the Grammy Awards and could even grab one in the upcoming ceremony which will be held early next year.

Glorilla’s other tracks include “Tomorrow” which first gave her a spot at the Billboard Hot 100.

Some of her best songs in 2024 are “Yeah Glo”, and “Wanna Be” which both peaked within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.
