Rapper OG Maco has died at 32 after gunshot wound that left him in a coma for two weeks

The hip-hop community is deeply mourning the loss of rapper OG Maco, whose real name was Benedict Chiajulam Ihesiba Jr. The talented artist passed away at just 32 years old, leaving fans heartbroken.

Known for his viral hit song “U Guessed It,” OG Maci became a symbol of resilience and determination, inspiring many with his unique style and determination despite facing serious challenges in his life.

OG Maco’s life was marked by both extraordinary talent and significant hardships. In 2016, he was in a terrible car accident that left him with severe injuries, including multiple broken bones and a fractured skull.

The accident nearly cost him his right eye and had to deal with pain and long-term health struggles.

As if this wasn’t enough, in 2019, he faced another serious problem – a rare disease called necrotizing fasciitis, also known as a flesh-eating disease.

It started as a small skin rash but became a health issue because it wasn’t treated properly. This disease left him with visible scars on his face, which impacted his self-confidence and mental health.

Despite these struggles, OG Maco stayed strong and kept making music that connected with fans. His story showed how much strength he had, even during hard times.

The Tragic Incident

On December 12, 2024, OG Maco experienced a distressing moment that would alter his life once again. Following a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, he was rushed to the hospital, where he remained in a coma for two weeks.

Sadly, on December 27, he passed away. His family shared a statement saying his life was full of “resilience, creativity, and boundless love.”

This acknowledgment of his enduring spirit serves as a reminder of the talent and passion he brought to his music and the impact he had on his fans and peers alike.

OG Maco became famous for his high-energy songs that spoke about real-life struggles. His breakout hit “U Guessed It” catapulted him to stardom, but it was his honesty and authenticity that cemented his place in the hearts of fans.
