A$AP Rocky Trial: Rihanna May Appear In Court
Rakim Mayers, better known as A$AP Rocky, has entered a not-guilty plea to charges that he shot at his old friend A$AP Relli four years ago.
His attorney maintains that he is innocent of the felony firearms allegations against him. However, Rocky faces a 24-year prison sentence if convicted.
It is a turning point in his life and profession, which explains why Rihanna’s participation has generated much discussion.
Rihanna and the rapper have two sons together, and while specific plans for her to go to court to support him have not yet been made public, she may do so.
Throughout her partner’s trial, the pop diva has not appeared in court. However, according to TMZ, Rihanna’s lack of appearances might be coming to an end.
The singer is “considering” in-person support, according to sources close to her who spoke to TMZ.
According to reports, Rihanna is conscious of the influence her fame has and how it can affect A$AP Rocky’s case. Another factor can be that the couple has two kids together.
Although Rihanna has not publicly discussed her partner’s legal issues, other media sites have provided secondhand reports of her responses.
According to Radar Online, RiRi was worried about the future of her family. “Publicly, Rihanna is putting on a brave front, but behind the scenes, she is freaking out,” said a source close to the singer.
Rihanna’s In-person Influence
A$AP Rocky and Rihanna, both 36, have been dating since around 2020 and have two boys together, RZA and Riot.
Nine-time Grammy winner Rihanna is the founder of Fenty Beauty and a multibillionaire with 150 million followers on Instagram while
According to experts who spoke to Newsweek, her appearance in court would draw media attention and might influence juries.
Because first, she’s a huge celeb and also the mother to Rocky’s 2 kids, so both things could influence a juror.
The selection of jurors in A$AP Rocky’s felony assault was done last week on Tuesday, 21st January, in Los Angeles.
During the selection, the lawyers considered the potential impact his longtime girlfriend, Rihanna, might have on the jurors.
A$AP Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, told reporters outside the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center earlier this month that he was not sure if Rihanna would be present at the trial.
“I know Rocky is very protective of Rihanna and doesn’t want her anywhere near this proceeding. But that’s a family decision they’ll make,” he said.
“This case is not about Rihanna. But I guess the D.A. wants to make sure people aren’t so enamored with Rihanna they’re going to be so blinded by their love for Rihanna they won’t listen to the evidence and facts of this case,” he added.
