It’s been a thrilling few months for Bruno Mars as “Die With a Smile” spent four weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100.

This was a full five months after the two pop superstars, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, linked together to unleash the duet on Aug. 16.

Soon after, the song peaked at number one on the Billboard Global 200, where it remained for eight weeks, making it Bruno’s ninth Hot 100 number one.

Meanwhile, “APT.” became the first song by a Western act to rule the Japanese song chart in more than 11 years, hitting number one on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.

Rose and Mars’s “APT.” also became the first No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart by a well-known K-pop artist.

The song also spent 11 weeks at the top of the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.

Bruno Mars’ Current Spotify Record

Born Peter Gene Hernandez, Bruno Mars has now officially imprinted his name in Spotify’s history book.

The worldwide superstar became the first performer to exceed 150 million monthly listeners on the platform on January 27.

Being one of the most vibrant and significant musicians, there is no denying Mars’ accomplishments.

This achievement comes after a tremendous run for Mars in 2024 as “Die With A Smile,” a song he co-wrote with Lady Gaga, became the fastest song in Spotify history to reach one billion plays.

Additionally, his duet with ROSÉ, “APT.,” reached Spotify’s Billions Club, earning Mars the remarkable honor of having the two tracks to reach this milestone the quickest.

In addition to having a library full of blockbusters like “Locked out of Heaven,” “That’s What I Like,” and “Just the Way You Are,” Mars has 17 songs that have received over a billion Spotify plays.

Bruno Mars doesn’t appear to be slowing down at the moment, as he just added another thrilling collaboration to his list of successes.

He recently collaborated with rapper Sexyy Red on their new song, “Fat Juicy & Wet.”

With 150 million monthly listeners and several record-breaking accomplishments, he continues to demonstrate his influence on the music industry.

Mars’ success can be attributed in large part to his ability to write music that crosses genre lines.

In addition to influencing pop and R&B, his work has encouraged innumerable musicians to experiment with genre and style.
