Drake Reacts After UMG/Spotify Petition is Dropped
Drake experienced a significant Tuesday following the year long rap beef between him and K.dot.
He started 2025 as the most renowned yet divisive rapper globally.
A primary factor was the legal suit he filed against both UMG and Spotify.
He asserted that they had colluded to inflate the streaming figures of Kendrick Lamar’s infamous diss track, “Not Like Us” that became the anthem of every Drake critic.
Fans were eager to ascertain whether Drake would emerge as the victor or the loser in this battle.
Well, the petition was dropped on Tuesday, Jan. 14. Nobody anticipated it to make it to such a gentle finish, though.
Respect For Rap Legends
After the dispute was dropped, Drake opted to upload two seemingly unconnected photographs on his IG page.
The first was of renowned rapper Yung Lean, who was seated front row at an NBA game.
The second was a more typically “Drake type” shot.
Drizzy didn’t give any commentary for the Yung Lean shot.
He did however, give an adequate one for the selfie.
Amidst all the tension between Jim Jones and Cam’ron, Drake chose to send a shout out to one of the greatest rap groups.
“Dips forever,” he wrote.
He even donned an American flag jacket to replicate the crew’s flair in the 2000s.
Drake displayed Respect To Dipset Despite Their Dispute
Drake has often stated his appreciation for Dipset.
He even dedicated a 2018 song after their great 2003 album, “Diplomatic Immunity.”
More recently, though the 6 God supported Cam’ron’s side in an argument with journalist Elliot Wilson with Cam’ron and “It Is What It Is” co-host Ma$e slammed Wilson on Instagram, and Drake chose to like the post.
It doesn’t require a lot of reading between the writings. The most noteworthy feature of the rapper’s new IG posts, nevertheless, lacks mention of the case.
Drake neglected the fact that he visited both UMG and Spotify soon before receding his court suit.
He didn’t reveal that an arrangement has been made behind closed doors.
Or that the legal action will not “cost” either party.
We are just as interested as you are about the outcome where this all goes.
Drake’s next phase is going to be an intriguing one.
