Metro Boomin’s New Album With Young Thug
The key to inventive and revolutionary music can always be attributed to the power of collaborations between artists.
One collaboration that hip hop fans are eagerly waiting for its release is the joint album from rapper Young Thug and renowned record producer and music executive Metro Boomin.
Playing vital roles in molding the modern sound of hip-hop, these individuals promise to deliver an album that showcases their distinct talents while also propelling the genre forward.
Jeffery Lamar Williams, known by his stage name Young Thug, a very dominant artist of his era has spent over a decade contravening traditional hip-hop conventions, embracing trap, punk, R&B, and even rock into his music.
The alternating frequency of his vocal delivery between aggressive rapping and melodic croon is now part of his style.
The ability of Young Thug to manipulate his voice in distinctive ways, and restyle himself while maintaining a loyal fanbase, along with his diverse production choices gives him the reputation of an industry visionary.
On the production side, Leland Tyler Wayne, professionally known as Metro Boomin is one of the most iconic figures in contemporary hip-hop.
His designated dark sound, atmospheric beats with hard-hitting 808s, and ethereal melodies are synonymous with the trap music genre.
Metro’s ability to create memorable, haunting instrumentals has produced some of the most iconic songs of the last decade.
His production credits include collaborations with some of the biggest names in rap, such as Future, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, and Drake.
The Collaboration
Metro Boomin recently revealed on Instagram that he and rapper Young Thug are collaborating on a new album, marking their third joint project.
Many assumed that because of their connections to Drake, they would not be working alongside one another.
The post clarified the rumors by saying, “Don’t trust everything you see online. Clout choked the entire world. Working on the @thuggerthugger1 album again.
Fans expressed their excitement on social media after learning about the impending collaboration, as one fan wrote on X, “I can’t think of a better way for Thug to come back.”
Another fan thought it would be among the year’s best albums. “This WILL be the second-best album this year behind Bully,” they wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, a fan speculated that Metro’s history might prevent the album from being released. “Metro needs to stop confirming collabs that never got done,” the fan wrote in a tweet. He brought up SM3, a collaboration involving Don Toliver, Durk, Jid, Baby, and now Thug.
