Nicki Minaj Names Rihanna As Her Favorite In Music
Nicki Minaj is a Trinidadian rapper, singer, and songwriter whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty.
Known for her dynamic rap flow, clever lyrics, musical versatility, and alter egos, she is regarded as the “Queen of Rap” and one of the most influential rappers of all time.
She is also credited with being a major contributor to the mainstream resurgence of female rap in the early 2010s.
In her most recent livestream on Stationhead, Nicki Minaj gave credit to her favorite female musicians.
Listening to their songs, the Queen of Rap’s list had Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Ariana Grande.
Nicki has previously worked on successful tracks with Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Ariana Grande.
Several well-known performers, like Beyoncé, who is not on Minaj’s list, would be recognized by fans with a fan tweeting, “Notice how she didn’t say Beyoncé.”
It was obvious the fan was referring to Minaj’s earlier tirade at Jay-Z because of Lil Wayne’s snub on the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show.
Nicki Minaj’s list was adored by other fans, with one fan writing, “I like all of those artists too,” on Twitter. “They not my top faves, but I understand why Nicki would choose them.”
Requests were made by another fan tweeting, “I want playlisting. I want autoplay. Want every payola that can be made. Inflated numbers. Bought awards. I want paid critics. I want fraudulence like the label is at the brink of bankruptcy. No more love and light strategies.”
Recent Activity in Nicki’s Life
A man named Brandon Gerret has filed a lawsuit against Nicki Minaj, claiming the Grammy-nominated rapper struck him in the face during a confrontation, according to a report by TMZ.
This report states that Minaj committed assault, battery, and “intentional infliction of emotional distress.”
According to Garrett, who is being represented by well-known trial lawyer Thomas Feher, the incident happened backstage following Minaj’s performance in Detroit in April 2024.
The lawsuit claims that a dispute arose regarding prescription drugs where Garrett, the plaintiff, once had someone else pick up Minaj’s prescription drugs from a pharmacy, and Minaj became irate.
Judd Burstein, Minaj’s attorney, strongly disputes these claims in a statement provided to Variety. He also condemns TMZ’s initial report of the complaint.
“At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty [Minaj’s husband is Kenneth Petty], and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations,” Bernstein writes.
“However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex-assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.” He added
