On Wednesday, February 19, the funeral servic for Irv Gotti was held in the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral, New York City.

The famed record producer died on February 5 at the age of 54 after suffering multiple strokes in previous years.

Many of Irv Gotti’s family members, close cousins, and close friends who worked alongside him in the industry were present.

Jay-Z, Fat Joe, and many other well-known personalities attended, as well as artists from his record label “Murder Inc.”, including Vita, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Lloyd, and Charli Baltimore.

TMZ claims that as the stories about Irv Gotti began coming in, there was not a dry eye in the house at the funeral.

After the procession, Irv’s friends and family reportedly gave him a final tour of his Queens neighborhood, stopping at the park where he developed his DJ abilities and his childhood home.

Ivr’s work affected so many people, although in a different way, even his bitterest rival, 50 Cent, had to pay his respects.

After the private honoring by family and close friends, the family plans to have a public parade honoring the music mogul, but the date and location for it are yet to be disclosed.

Ja Rule’s Tribute at the Funeral

At Irv Gotti’s funeral on Wednesday, Ja Rule honored his friend and longtime collaborator, conveying his appreciation for the influence Gotti had on his life and career.

While those present watched, Ja was caught choking up while giving a heartfelt eulogy for his lifelong friend.

“I just want to say, Irv, I love you, everyone in this room loves you. You touched everybody in their own way. Everyone had their moment with that, with him,” he said as he struggled to get through his speech in tears.

“We’re here, at the celebration of your life, because it will live on forever. I love you, my brother. See you when I get there,” Ja Rule ended before stepping down from the podium.

Following his homage, Ja Rule received applause from Jay-Z, Ashanti, Fat Joe, Hype Williams, Lloyd, Benny Boom, radio anchor Angie Martinez, and other attendees of the funeral.

Images taken inside the funeral showed that the sad event focused on the career of the American record producer.

Posters from some of Gotti’s most famous photo shoots were displayed throughout the cathedral.
