Drake and PartyNextDoor (PND)’s newly released joint album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, has seen the duo accomplish a number of noteworthy milestones.

Starting from the 21-track album debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 to the album  achieving remarkable digital sales in addition to streaming.

The album’s unique blend of R&B and hip-hop, which can be demonstrated in hits like “Crying in Chanel,” “Brian Steel,” and “Somebody Love Me,” has captivated listeners.

It achieved the highest first-day streams for an R&B/Soul album in Apple Music history and also became the fastest album to debut at number one on the U.S. Apple Music charts two months into 2025.

One of the solo singles from the album “Nokia” was recently revealed to have made it into the top 10 on the U.S. Spotify chart this week.

The song, which is exclusively credited to Drake, saw a decline in streaming following its release, but it picked up stream as the days went by.

According to Luminate, ‘Nokia’ received 2.9 million official on-demand streams in the United States on Tuesday.

For the first time, “Nokia” surpassed “Gimme a Hug” as the most-played song on the album since its release.

On the 23rd of February, chart data revealed that “Nokia” reached a new peak of number 9 on the US Spotify chart, with total streams of 1.268 million.

The solo single also did well in digital sales, selling 13,000 copies in its first five days and topping the iTunes real-time list.

Drake and PND’s Collaboration

On February 14th, Drake and PartyNextDoor (PND)’s album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U was released on every major platform.

After being revealed for the first time in August 2024 that they’ll be dropping a collaboration album, Drake and PND, on the first week of February this year, announced the name of the album and release date.

The album, which was distributed through OVO Sound, was under an exclusive license to UMG Recordings (his signed record label he sued and dropped earlier this year) and Santa Anna Label Group, Republic Record.

While Drake and PND have worked before on various singles, this album happens to be their first full-length studio collaboration.

The album has 21 songs on it and features several rising talents like Chico Pacas, Yeba, Pim, Ice Spice, and lots more.

The album also revolves round themes such as love, relationships, loyalty, wealth, both rappers reminiscing on old flames, new love interests, and more.

Despite the album’s commercial success, it has received mixed reviews from critics, with some critics questioning the album’s depth and coherence.

The popularity of the album though and it’s accomplishments prove that the collaboration of the duo is still a powerful force in R&B and hip-hop.
