Ye Claims Only Geniuses Like Him Can Defeat Kendrick Lamar
Ye, also known as Kanye West, allegedly hosted a Grammy Awards afterparty in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 2.
This was after his strategy to steal the spotlight at the 2025 Grammy Awards was marred with chaos after he was allegedly pulled out of the event.
The Chicago rap icon nonetheless, stole the spotlight alongside his wife on the red carpet, who went nude for the cameras.
At the afterparty, Ye debuted his upcoming interview with Justin Laboy for The Download Podcast, where he talked about different topics.
One of the things the rapper talked about was the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
He acknowledged that Drake lost his fight with Kendrick Lamar but doesn’t believe Drizzy is permanently out of the game.
Before Laboy interrupted, Ye stated, “It was really challenging for me to make ‘Father Stretch My Hands’ and different things, and this man got ‘Work’ a top five song ever created in life, and we doing the drums, bringing Metro [Boomin] on.”
In response to Justin’s declaration that “Kendrick killed Drake,” Ye quickly stated, “Yeah, for now.”
He gave Lamar kudos for beating Drake and said no rapper should ever think about putting Lamar in a rap fight again.
However, he believed that he was exempt from this restriction, and his justification was characteristic of Ye.
“If you rap against Kendrick, you will lose,” he told the host, Justin Laboy. He added that Kendrick’s skills can’t be overcome “unless your name is Kanye West.”
West went on to say that he will find a way to win, adding that only a psycho genius like himself can defeat Kendrick Lamar.
Kanye Likening Drake to Steve Curry
Kanye West told host Justin Laboy that Kendrick Lamar was the best at what he did, yet he implied that Drake might return even after losing the fight with Lamar.
“You can’t ever count out Steph Curry, that man (Drake) might get 200 points in one song,” he said, comparing Drake to the NBA player.
Ye went on to make some of his most audacious statements to date. Staring straight into the camera, West asserted that he “defeated” the rap game alone.
According to him, “It’s up for everybody; I already beat the rap sh*t; I already beat the money sh*t.”
He then took his focus on just his wife Bianca and Drake. “I already beat the baddest b*tch sh*t. I already beat the Drake; I am King.”
With the diss single, Kendrick even won all five of his nominations for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Music Video, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance at the 67th annual Grammy Awards.
