Atlanta rapper Quez 2RR has pled guilty to federal charges following a shocking 2023 incident. The artist concealed an illegal firearm in a hospital maternity ward.

Born Terrell Marquez Searcy, the 21-year-old underground performer now awaits sentencing for a federal machine gun possession charge. His hearing is scheduled for June 4, 2025.

The incident occurred at Piedmont Walton Hospital in Monroe, Georgia, on August 17, 2023. Searcy hid a Glock Model 17 handgun beneath a couch cushion in the labor and delivery unit.

Hospital security discovered the concealed weapon and immediately contacted authorities. The handgun was loaded with a 30-round extended magazine.

Security officers noted modifications to the firearm. A full-auto sear pin attached to the rear of the slide had converted the pistol into an automatic weapon.

Law enforcement confirmed the firearm was reported stolen in Walton County. Police took Searcy into custody following the discovery.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives conducted testing on the seized weapon. Agents verified that it functioned as a fully automatic machine gun.

Investigators later discovered Searcy had previously flaunted the illegally modified weapon. His YouTube music videos prominently displayed the converted pistol.

In his track “Traffic,” the rapper explicitly referenced installing a “switch” on his firearm. The music video has garnered millions of views online.

Federal prosecutors waited nearly a year before filing charges. Searcy was indicted in August 2024 for illegally possessing a machine gun.

Additional Firearms Uncovered

Court documents revealed concerning communications between Searcy and a Clayton County police officer. The rapper requested warrant checks through this unauthorized channel.

Sensitive information regarding an ongoing homicide investigation was purportedly leaked by the cop. This message gave federal authorities more cause for concern.

On February 11, 2025, federal agents carried out a search warrant at Searcy’s home. Additional guns linked to various illegal enterprises were discovered throughout the operation.

One weapon recovered during the search was linked to a drive-by shooting in DeKalb County. That incident resulted in injuries to four individuals.

Facing mounting evidence, Searcy entered a guilty plea on the federal machine gun charge. The legal consequences will likely derail his emerging music career.

Federal charges carry particularly severe penalties. Unlike state offenses, federal convictions offer no possibility of parole.

Searcy, who performs as Quez 2RR, had built a following in Atlanta’s underground hip-hop scene. His projects include last year’s release, “Yahweh Chose Me.”

The Henry County resident’s music career now takes a backseat to his legal troubles. His social media presence previously showcased multiple firearms.

This case demonstrates how weaponry in music videos is coming under more scrutiny. Federal authorities continue targeting modified firearms capable of automatic fire.

The sentencing in June will determine how many years Searcy spends behind bars. He could spend a significant amount of time in prison for his decision to bring a machine gun to a maternity unit.
