The Burna Boy/Sophia ‘Sex-for-Lamborghini’ Saga
Popular Nigerian socialite Sophia Egbueje went online to expose how Nigerian artist Burna Boy had a one-night stand with her and didn’t keep his promise to buy her a Lamborghini.
Sophia said the singer contacted her through a club owner and set up a meeting, but it was delayed.
According to Sophia, Burna Boy contacted her again, and her friend convinced her to sleep with him for the lambo. Then last week, a private recording of Sophia complaining about the ordeal leaked online.
In the leaked recording, Sophia told a friend that Burna Boy slept with her but didn’t keep his promise to buy her a Lamborghini.
She was upset that Burna Boy didn’t keep his promise. She blamed Ama Reginald for encouraging her to pursue Burna, only to see Ama partying with Burna and his new girlfriend, Chloe Bailey a few days later.
On February 28, 2025, Burna Boy responded to the controversy with a freestyle video on his Instagram story. He jokingly sang, “I no buy Lambo, is that why you’re shouting?”
In a bold move, Sophia bought her own Lamborghini. She stated, “Burna Boy keeps giving excuses, so I blocked him and paid for the Lamborghini myself.”
Sophia flaunted her Lamborghini on the internet, captioning the post, “My baby is here, as dem no buy am, I buy am.”
Reactions Following the Lamborghini Saga
The drama has caused a big argument online, with people on social media having different opinions.
Some blame Sophia for having high expectations, while others blame Burna Boy for leading her on.
Social media critic VeryDarkMan and influencer Saida Boj, along with many Nigerians, shared their thoughts on the matter.
VeryDarkMan offered to help Sophia if she could provide more proof about what happened with Burna Boy.
Cubana Chief Priest also posted on his Instagram story, throwing shade at Burna Boy for not fulfilling his promise.
He posted, “Osho free no good oh. Make una dey promise wetin una fit do. All this audio money here & dia”.
Veteran actor and media personality Patric Doyle has also spoken out against Sophia Egbueje, criticising her “shameful means of livelihood.”
Instead of criticising Burna Boy, Saida Boj scolded Nigerian women for mocking Sophia Egbueje.
She said Sophia might only need to be with two men a year to get what she wants. Those making fun of her, however, have to be with many men and still struggle.
