Galaxy Tech Forum: Redefining Smart Home Living
On January 23, Samsung held the Galaxy Tech Forums in San Jose, California. In four main areas: Sustainability, Health AI, Galaxy AI, and Home AI.
With an advanced Galaxy Home AI, Samsung has made a major influence in the rapidly changing field of smart technology.
Offering a thorough examination of Samsung’s AI advancements and issues, experts discussed Samsung’s view on the future of smart homes during the Home AI event.
With Home AI, a new concept for smart living that recognizes user wants and provides highly customized experiences, Samsung Electronics is rethinking smart homes.
The last Tech Forum session held by Samsung was titled, “Understanding Home, Understanding You: Rethinking the Role of the Home in the Era of AI.”
A key component of the Home AI experience is the user interface (UI), which acts as a conduit between people and their TVs, mobile devices, home appliances, and other gadgets.
According to Patrick Chomet, Mobile Strategy Advisor at Samsung Electronics, “User Interface is a key area in the age of AI.”
He added that with “the advent of LLM multimodal AI, a big shift has taken place in user Interface (UI), enabling people to get things done in natural and simple ways such as gesture, voice, or text interaction. Users no longer need to understand devices; rather, the device should understand the user’s intent.”
He also clarified how marketers may maximize in-home solutions by using intelligent user interfaces, which not only allow for more natural interactions but also yield deeper understandings of user context and intent.
Impact of AI Platforms On The Moulding Of Smart Homes
The panelists talked about the needed effort to make Home AI a reality, introducing the topics of integrated AI platforms and industry standards to guide the discussion.
Chomet stated, “As we scale our AI platform to reach across applications, services, and multiple devices, the experience can be optimized around the user and user context, and richer insights can be gathered to deliver relevant and truly personalized experiences.”
“The SmartThings platform is 10 years in the making, and while the concept of a smart home isn’t new, AI technology is what’s truly creating the intelligent home.” Jaeyeon Jung, the executive vice president and head of Samsung Electronics’ SmartThings team, added.
Chomet discussed how AI technology can comprehend purpose and context to create an optimal experience for each user.
He addressed concerns about the difficulty of providing individualized experiences in houses shared by numerous people.
He underlined that rather than focusing on individual goods, Samsung will innovate for multi-device connectivity.
The Home AI session demonstrated how AI is advancing the creation of safer, smarter, and more adaptable living environments.
