WhatsApp To Introduce Music Feature In Status Update
WhatsApp is still the industry leader in messaging apps, and in 2025 it plans to introduce several cutting-edge innovations that will improve use and fun.
With an exciting new feature presently undergoing testing for a limited number of beta users, both Android and iOS, WhatsApp is poised to improve the user experience.
Just like Instagram, this feature offers a large selection of songs, artists, and popular tracks for users to peruse in its music library and enables users to select a particular snippet of the song to highlight.
The music clip for a photo may be as little as 15 seconds, but for a video status update, the music will correspond to the length of the video.
After testing with beta users on Android and iOS, the feature is anticipated to be made available to all users soon.
Following the user’s sharing of the Status, viewers can access the track name, artist, and album art in a pop-up overlay by tapping on the song label at the bottom of the Status.
In addition, viewers will have the option to connect with the Instagram profile of the artist whose music is featured by tapping on the three-dot menu button in the overlay.
This will probably make it easier to find musicians and encourage direct conversations over WhatsApp.
As part of a partnership between Meta and Universal Music Group, the new feature allows WhatsApp users to peruse a music library and choose specific songs for their status updates.
The goal of this feature
Adding music to status updates on WhatsApp is a fun way to add personality to posts and create an atmosphere for shared images or videos.
This new feature broadens prior enhancements to the app’s status area, including an overhauled user interface and new reaction options.
For those who are eager to try it, accessing the new music option is easy because it is currently accessible in the WhatsApp iOS beta version (25.1.10.73) and Android beta version (2.25.2.5).
To get access to this update, users can install these beta versions from the Google Play Store or TestFlight for iOS and Android, respectively.
In addition to receiving a sneak peek at upcoming features, users who participate in the beta program can provide feedback to help the app improve.
WhatsApp is investigating several improvements to keep its platform innovative, including this new music option.
