The Electric Chevy Blazer Prototype Pays Homage to NASCAR.

The Daytona 500 kicked off the NASCAR Series, which started last weekend and will continue until the fall.
Chevrolet is breaking tradition in the lead-up to this year’s Daytona 500 by employing the new 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS as the pace car.
The automaker company also recently introduced the “Blazer EV.R NASCAR,” a new high-performance concept that could represent future racing.
The prototype has a tri-motor system that produces more than 1,300 horsepower and bears a passing resemblance to a design Chevrolet unveiled last year.
No precise performance numbers have been provided for this new car, despite being built on Chevrolet’s new Blazer EV SS (Super Sport), which has a longer range.
By placing the pretty sensible Blazer EV body on top of the outstanding Next Gen chassis, Chevrolet has attempted to compete with a possible future NASCAR opponent.
The Blazer EV.R retains the suspension and powertrain configuration from the Blazer EV SS, which includes three motors, an all-wheel-drive, a 78kWh liquid-cooled battery, and unique Goodyear rubber.
The Blazer EV.R has an aggressive aero package that includes a massively modified fascia, a massive rear wing, and a much more contoured body.
Chevrolet claims that by researching and examining new technology, the firm can apply what it learns to the vehicles that are on show.
Chevrolet’s 2025 NASCAR Plans
With 851 NASCAR races and 43 Manufacturer Championships won as of February 2025, Chevrolet is firmly established as the “Winningest Brand in NASCAR Cup Series History.”
This year, before the day of NASCAR racing, Chevrolet, who has been the pace car for the Daytona 500, revealed their most current innovation.
For sixteen consecutive years, Chevrolet has been the pace car for the Daytona 500, but the difference this year is that the manufacturers led with an electric vehicle.
The pace car is the car that always leads the assembled starting grid around the track for a predetermined number of unscored warm-up laps.
The Chevy Blazer EV SS became the first eclectic vehicle to lead the Daytona 500 to the green flag on 16th February 2025.
In the introduction news release, the Blazer EV was hailed as “the quickest SS (Super Sport) model Chevrolet has ever produced,” with a 0–60 mph time of 3.4 seconds.
Even with the rapid introduction of two EV concepts, Chevrolet says it intends to “race its proven and winning V8 technology in NASCAR for years to come.”
