Kendrick Lamar Becomes First Rapper With 3 Albums In Billboard 200 Top 10 At Once

Kendrick Lamar is having his best year ever, as he has made history once again and reached another milestone.
After his Super Bowl performance, Lamar became the first rapper to concurrently have three albums in the top 10, according to Billboard.
With a staggering 236,000 equivalent album units sold, Kendrick’s most recent release, “GNX,” is set to rocket back to the top of the charts.
As “GNX” will reclaim the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart on February 22, his 2017 release, “DAMN,” will take the number nine, and his 2012 “good kid, m.A.A.d city” album will claim ten.
His most recent album, “GNX,” will be moving to the number one spot from number four with 236,000 equivalent album units.
His Pulitzer Prize-winning 2017 album “DAMN” will be going from number 29 to number 9 with 39,000 copies.
His 2012 breakthrough album “Good Kid, m.A.A.d city,” on the other hand, will move from number 27 to number 10 with 37,000 copies.
According to Billboard, which began publishing weekly in March 1956, “It’s the first time in the nearly 69-year history of the chart that a rap act has placed at least three albums concurrently in the top 10.”
Kendrick’s Post-Super Bowl Halftime Show Achievements
Lamar’s most recent Billboard success was undoubtedly influenced by his Super Bowl halftime performance on February 9, but that’s not the only win Kendrick’s gotten since the halftime show.
The rapper’s post-Super Bowl triumph continued as the performance caused a streaming spike, generating 15 million more monthly Spotify listeners.
His win was also extended to Saturday Night Live (SNL) when his hit diss track “Not Like Us” gained SNL treatment thanks to Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer.
Ana Gaseyer and Will Ferrell returned to their iconic roles as music instructors Marty and Bobbi Culp to perform a variety of contemporary hits during the sketch comedy show’s 50th-anniversary special this past weekend.
Lamar’s most recent accomplishment demonstrates that his music is timeless and influential, further solidifying his influence in the music industry.
Lamar has made it apparent that he will not be slowing down anytime soon as he sets to join SZA on the Grand National Tour in April.
The Compton rapper keeps raising the bar for hip-hop greatness with his highly lauded record and chart success.
