Kenyan-American rapper Pat Black is building a name for himself in the music world.

He mixes the hard-hitting style of U.S. rap with the rich, lively sounds of East Africa. His music is a mix of different styles, from drill to Afrobeat, proving how flexible he is as an artist.

His growing fame got a big boost when West Coast rap legend The Game showed him support. “He told me to keep going, and that meant everything,” Black said.

With his unique sound and that kind of support, he’s on a strong path in the industry.

His viral songs “Ting Go Boom” and “Soul Bleed” have gained a lot of attention. They show how easily he moves between intense energy and deep, melodic moments.

Black isn’t just looking for fame; he wants to bring cultures together.

Right now, he’s working on a summer anthem with top Kenyan artists to mix the sounds of Nairobi and LA.

“This isn’t just about making a hit. It’s about showing the world what Kenya and the US can create together,” he says.

Even though he’s based in the U.S., Black stays true to his roots. “Kenya’s influence is in my blood, and my music reflects that,” he says.

He wants to take East African music global without changing its authentic sound.

Black’s ability to move between drill and R&B has helped him rise in the industry.

“I let the music guide me. My voice shifts with the mood; it’s about making each track feel right,” he says.

Planning to spend time in both Kenya and the U.S., he’s proving that hip-hop has no borders.

Black calls Kenya his home and hip-hop his voice, and he wants the world to hear both.
