Drake Will Headline The Wireless Festival

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, London’s Wireless Festival will feature Drake as its headliner. For the first time, one artist will headline all three nights of the festival.
The One Dance singer will perform in the UK for the first time in six years, delivering a unique setlist each evening.
Drake headlined Wireless in 2012 and has since held the record as the festival’s most requested performer.
Wireless Festival posted on X, “For our 20th anniversary… @Drake will headline all THREE nights with three different setlists.”
Starting from July 11 to 13 at Finsbury Park, Drake will perform three different shows with special guests each night.
On Friday, Drake will kick off the festival with PARTYNEXTDOOR, performing songs from their new joint album.
R&B singer Summer Walker will also perform on the opening night, making it an even bigger event.
On Saturday, Drake’s “Drake & The Mandem” show will highlight his strong connection to UK music.
Rumour has it that British rap stars Skepta, Giggs, Central Cee, Dave, Headie One, and Troy will join Drake on stage.
Wireless Festival wraps up on Sunday with a lively Afrobeats and Dancehall-inspired performance. The stage will be shared with Nigerian superstar Burna Boy and dancehall icon Vybz Kartel.
Drake has been involved in a rap dispute with Kendrick Lamar, who recently performed at the Super Bowl.
Kendrick has his own UK tour dates in July, with a Birmingham show the night before Drake’s first performance.
Although the feud began over a decade ago, it reignited in the past year with Kendrick’s song “Not Like Us.”. The song, which targeted Drake, is now part of an ongoing lawsuit filed by Drake.
Wireless Festival 2025 is set to be an unforgettable experience with its incredible lineup.
Fans Reactions
Drake’s three-night headlining has sparked a divided response from fans.
Some fans are happy to see Drake make history, while some criticises the lack of enough UK artists.
Megaman of So Solid Crew stated that while Drake is “the biggest artist in the world,” it’s wrong to announce Wireless “without a UK artist.”
In an interview with 1Xtra Breakfast’s Nadia Jae, Megaman emphasised the importance of showcasing UK talent. He said, “It’s a UK brand, so I would always love to see a top UK artist as part of the first run of promo.”
“We have so many big artists in the culture, there’s no harm putting any on there,” he added.
Rehea Shillingford told BBC Newsbeat she’s not against Drake but thinks three days is unnecessary.
“There’s other British artists that could have been headlining,” she says, naming artists such as Dave and J Hus.
Wireless Festival has assured fans that more artists will be revealed for the weekend lineup in the coming days.
The festival has secured a five-year agreement to take place in Finsbury Park annually until 2027.
