Young Thug Clears Instagram; Hints at New Album

Young Thug is officially back, dropping a verse on Lil Baby’s song WHAM, his first since getting out of prison.
The feature has fans buzzing, with excitement for his next album at an all-time high. This adds even more hype to Thug’s big return.
Young Thug seems to be getting ready for his big return.
He just wiped his Instagram, which usually means new music or an album announcement is on the way. Fans have been waiting for this moment.
The timing is interesting because he’s also rumoured to be on Playboi Carti’s upcoming album.
Metro Boomin just revealed that he’s working on Young Thug’s new album.
It will be Thug’s first since getting out of jail in November after spending over 900 days locked up.
Metro shared the news on his Instagram story while reacting to reports about his yacht catching fire in Miami over the weekend.
“Don’t believe everything you see online. Clout got the world in a chokehold. Back to working on [Young Thug’s] album,” he wrote.
Metro Boomin and Young Thug have worked together on several big songs, like Hercules, Trance, Stupid/Asking, and The Blanguage.
Metro also produced Thug’s 2023 album BUSINESS IS BUSINESS, which included features from Drake, Future, Travis Scott, etc.
Producer Wheezy shared a studio photo featuring “Super Slimey 2” in neon lights, suggesting the project is in progress.
Social media speculation indicates that Gunna and Lil Baby will be involved, aligning with recent announcements.
Young Thug is also set to perform at Les Ardentes Festival in Belgium on July 5. This is his first show since getting out.
Since he wiped his Instagram, it looks like he might drop new music before then.
Why Young Thug Took a Break From Music
Young Thug was arrested in May 2022 on charges of racketeering, gang activity, drug possession, and gun possession.
The 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, had been locked up for over 900 days.
Prosecutors claimed his YSL record label was actually a criminal gang responsible for much of Atlanta’s violent crime.
He originally faced up to 45 years in prison, but the judge sentenced him to time served and 15 years of probation instead.
Young Thug was released from jail on October 31, 2024, after pleading guilty to the charges. This brings an end to Georgia’s longest criminal trial.
In court, he took responsibility, saying, “I take full responsibility for my crimes, for my charges.”
He described himself as “a good guy with a good heart” who got caught up in bad situations.
Judge Paige Whitaker decided on his sentence. She told him, “I want you to try to be more of the solution and less of the problem.”
As part of his release, he has to do 100 hours of community service and stay away from gang members.
He must also avoid Atlanta for 10 years, except for special occasions like funerals, weddings, or anti-gang talks.
His guilty plea wraps up a long and messy case filled with delays, courtroom drama, and mistrial requests.
Young Thug is back now and is set to release a new album soon.
