Maserati Unveils Limited-Edition MC20 Cielo
Maserati’s Fuoriserie collection takes an exciting new turn as the Italian luxury car manufacturer partners with renowned designer and Fragment founder, Hiroshi Fujiwara.
In a testament to their influential collaboration, the partnership will yield the first-ever bespoke supercar in the Fuoriserie By series, inspired by Maserati’s exclusive customization program of the same name.
Redefining Automotive Design with the Fragment Touch
Fuoriserie is set to collaborate with an impressive roster of creatives who have previously worked with Maserati, offering their distinct interpretations of the brand’s most celebrated models.
Hiroshi Fujiwara kicks off this exciting new endeavor with his masterful reinterpretation of the iconic MC20 Cielo, drawing upon his passion for classic cars and Fragment’s timeless aesthetic.
The visionary designer presents two stunning, minimalist renditions of the supercar. First, a sleek all-over “Nero Vulcano” model reflects Fujiwara’s dark, monochromatic sensibilities, while its counterpart is a crisp “Bianco Audace” edition that completes the duality with an airy, fresh quality.
These captivating colorways epitomize Fujiwara’s minimalistic style, bringing the essence of Fragment to life in the realm of automotive design.
In an unprecedented move for Maserati, the unmistakable Trident symbol adorning the rear tonneau cover gives way to Fragment’s distinctive lightning bolt emblem.
This audacious change lends a subtle edge to the collaboration, with the emblem slicing through the glossy car bodies in a matching matte version of each colorway. The result is a seamless fusion of both brands’ design DNA.
The supercar interiors reflect the monochromatic motif, boasting black leather 6-way power seats complemented by white stitching and an embroidered Trident logo on the headrests.
This approach extends to the sport steering wheel and armrests, maintaining coherence throughout the car’s interior. An embossed metal plate between the headrests further reinforces the collaboration’s authenticity and exclusivity.
Beneath the surface, both models retain Maserati’s hallmark F1-derived V6 Nettuno engine. This cutting-edge technology guarantees the high-performance capabilities expected of such a visually striking vehicle.
As the first installment in Maserati’s Fuoriserie By series, these two MC20 Cielo models bring Hiroshi Fujiwara’s visionary design language to life in a unique supercar that balances aesthetic elegance with the pinnacle of automotive engineering.
Unleashing Limitless Potential in Bespoke Luxury
Klaus Busse, Head of Design at Maserati, emphasizes the collection’s role in showcasing the expansive customization opportunities offered by the Trident program.
He envisions a personalized journey for every customer, allowing them to craft their own bespoke masterpiece in collaboration with the brand.
As Maserati embarks on this exhilarating new venture, the potential for creative innovation and personalized luxury is limitless.
